The Smedjan engine — the source code in the repository — is released under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute it, including commercially, under the terms in the LICENSE file. The code license is separate from the copyright on the brand, site, and content above.

Please don't use the Smedjan name or mark in a way that implies official endorsement or affiliation, or that a fork or product is the official Smedjan. Forks and derivatives of the MIT code are encouraged — just make it clear they are your own. The name is not currently a registered trademark.

Code contributions are accepted under the MIT License via the repository. Financial contributions are handled through GitHub Sponsors. Companies wanting a collaboration — private or on-prem models, custom development, or support — can get in touch directly.
